Immigration medical exams (Form I-693)
Performed by a USCIS-designated civil surgeon, right here in Garland.
If you're applying for adjustment of status, USCIS requires a medical exam completed by a physician they've designated as a civil surgeon. Our clinic is designated, so you can have the exam done and your Form I-693 completed here in Garland — no separate trip, no hunting for an approved doctor.
We'll go through the exam, complete the form, and give you the sealed envelope to submit with your application. Do not open the envelope — USCIS will reject it if the seal is broken.
What to bring
- Government-issued photo ID
- Your vaccination records, if you have them
- Any records of past tuberculosis testing or treatment
What the exam covers
- Review of your medical and vaccination history
- Physical examination
- Required testing, including tuberculosis screening
- A review of which vaccinations you still need
Cost
$320 – $420 per applicant, depending on age and which labs are required. Immigration exams are not covered by insurance. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and cash.
How long it takes
Once your labs and vaccinations are complete, we need 7 to 10 days to finish the paperwork. If your results call for additional testing — a chest X-ray, for example — it will take longer. Plan for this in your filing timeline rather than assuming a same-day envelope.
Languages: Our office speaks English, Spanish and Arabic. You can complete your exam without bringing an interpreter.
