- Complete blood count (CBC) — checks for infection, anemia and clotting problems
- Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) — kidney and liver function, blood sugar, electrolytes
- Hemoglobin A1c — your average blood sugar over about three months
- Lipid panel — cholesterol and triglycerides, for heart risk
- Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) — thyroid function
- Prostate specific antigen (PSA) — prostate screening
- Testosterone — for evaluating low testosterone
- Estrogen and progesterone — hormone evaluation

Fasting. If your visit includes cholesterol or glucose testing, we'll tell you in advance whether to fast. When in doubt, come in the morning without breakfast — water and your regular medications are fine.
